Steve Heyen wins RAAF Heritage Award

Australia-based aviation artist and eHangar.com regular Steve Heyen has won an award by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) for one of his aviation art paintings. Many congratulations, Steve! :) Steve was presented the RAAF Heritage Award by the Chief of Air Force (CAF) at the 87th Anniversary during a cocktail reception at the National Convention Centre in Canberra.

Bailey Doll One by Robert Bailey

This just in - Robert Bailey has announced the release of the first in a series of prints featuring pin-up ladies and aircraft. Bailey Doll One depicts a girl in a USAAF jacket, gazing alluringly at the viewer. She sports a 1940s style hairdo. In the backdrop is the nose of P-40 with the famous sharks teeth markings.

Arctic Hunters by Richard Taylor

The Military Gallery has released a new limited edition aviation art print by Richard Taylor. Arctic Hunters depicts Messerschmitt Bf109's of JG-5 on dawn patrol along the glacial fjords of Norway's far-northern coastline.

Balkan Strikers by Robert Bailey

Robert Bailey has released a new limited print featuring F/A-18 Hornets of the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force). The Hornets are depicted taxying and taking off for a mission in Kosovo during the Balkan campaign. A very small print run due to the more niche nature of this image, Balkan Strikers is limited to 60 prints for the main edition. Each print is signed by the artist and by five Kosovo F-18 veterans.

Silent Fortress by Randall Scott

The Military Gallery has released a new print by Randall Scott, a US-based artist who is well-known for his wildlife and underwater art. Silent Fortress is done in Randall's distinctive style, depicting the wreck of a B-17 Flying Fortress lying at the bottom of the ocean, many years after the war.

Good News - Artists Gallery Storage Memory Increased to 5MB!

Untouchable by Dru Blair

Aviation artist Dru Blair has released a new set of limited edition prints depicting the famed Lockheed A-12 supersonic reconnaissance aircraft.
While there are many aviation art images of the A-12's more famous competitor and eventual successor - the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird - this is, to my knowledge, the first aviation art print depicting this revolutionary aircraft and Dru's offering helps address this disparity. This is the first A-12 painting included in the eHangar.com Aviation Art Prints Directory.
Untouchable depicts the first official sortie flown by an A-12 on May 31, 1967. Piloted by Mel Vojvodich, this first Black Shield operation was flown over North Vietnam to photograph Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) sites. Mele flew the A-12 at Mach 3.1 at 80,000 ft.

Philip West has released two new Dambusters-based aviation art prints. Published by SWA Fine Art Publishers, these new prints depict 617 Squadrons in classic Dambuster scenarios.
Operation Chastise � The Dambusters features Flt Lt Maltby and crew in Avro Lancaster AJ-J pulling up clear of the Mohne dam moments after releasing their Upkeep mine.
The second print, Every Second Counts, depicts Wing Commander Guy Gibson's Lancaster streaking low over the water with the splash of his Upkeep mine behind him and flak bursting all around.
